Christina Wuenn is a passionate voice teacher, vocal coach, and performer with a mission to help singers become masters of their instrument and embrace their individuality. Specializing in Musical Theatre, Pop, R&B, Jazz, and Classical, she works with singers of all levels, from beginners to musical theatre professionals and gigging artists.
Christina graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Music from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and also holds an AA in Theater. During her time at Mason Gross, she studied vocal pedagogy and taught voice to acting and dance majors. Christina later completed the NYVC Voice Teacher Training program to further refine her voice education. Her students have landed leading roles in regional and Off-Broadway productions, including performances as Mark Cohen in Rent, Pippin in Pippin, and Cassie in A Chorus Line.
As a lover of performance, Christina has sung for bars and restaurants, prestigious choirs, and musical productions, across genres including Musical Theatre, Classical, Pop, Jazz, Rock, R&B, and Soul. Christina is also a trained improviser, having received her training at the People’s Improv Theater in NYC and regularly performs with her improv team.
From a very young age, Christina knew that singing was her deepest passion, and soon realized she was meant to teach it to others. She believes that discovering one’s voice begins with letting go of shame and judgments and reconnecting with our child-like selves, the versions of us that weren’t afraid to play, to explore, to fail and try again. Because our voices are so closely tied to our sense of self and identity, many singers hold back for fear that their voice isn’t “good enough.” When we let go of those standards, we are free to let every silly, weird, unique, beautiful sound come out. It’s unlocking those sounds that allows us to become true masters of our voices.
